Ridgefield Borough offers Borough homeowners housing rehabilitation loans of up to $20,000 for basic repairs to their home. The loans are interest free and are only repaid when the house is sold.

Then, if you are interested in the Program, please download the pre-application form which also includes the State's income eligibility guidelines for the program. The income guidelines for the program are based on household size. (see below)
Owners of single-family homes are given priority. Owners of duplexes or other multifamily units can apply, though their application will be deferred until single-family household applicants are served. Different guidelines apply to multifamily structures, as well.

In addition to normal program eligibility guidelines, owners of rental units must agree to the following, State-mandated, program guidelines for a period of 10 years in order to be eligible for housing rehabilitation program loans:
• Agree to charge rents no higher than State-determined affordable rents
• Agree to rent only to tenants who are referred by the Borough from a prescreened Borough affordable housing regional tenant waiting list, prioritized in accordance with State-mandated guidelines
